In this article we will take a look on how to set up your own custom form building environment using 123FormBuilder’s enterprise-ready framework. This is the second part of the Enterprise Web Forms series, dedicated to large companies and agencies or resellers that need to integrate a form building tool into their systems.

As you create your forms, 123FormBuilder provides your form building backend where you can view submissions, reports and stats about your form activity. The same elements can be preserved when you wish to create your own form building environment, but customized in a way that will reflect your brand. The form building module can be adapted to such extent that it blends perfectly with the image of your company. All you need to do is to tweak the predefined structure with a bit of external code. This is done one time and lasts as long as you keep your 123FormBuilder account, and our team can also give you a hand in setting everything up.
First, decide upon the looks and functionality you need from your custom form building control panel. Then insert design controls by linking your 123FormBuilder account with the URL where your CSS file is located (as described in our guide). This way you can adapt your form building backend with the colors and menu items that represent your brand, in order to create a familiar look for the users that are going to log in here. You can also add your own logo to replace 123FormBuilder’s one on every instance.
When you prepare the backend for a large team, or for externalization, it may come in handy to provide users with means for contacting the support crew of your company and ask for help whenever needed. The default footer links that your account comes with are the Support, Help and Contact ones of 123FormBuilder. When it does not make sense for sub-users to reach out to us, but you need them to contact you instead, just set your own Contact, Help and Support links in the My Account section. From then on, users will quickly find the way to get in touch with your team directly from their control panel.
With a bit of creativity, great things can be done in transforming the general 123FormBuilder backend in a custom, proprietary one. For your inspiration, we’d like to showcase the customization created by one of our awesome customers, NextWave. This backend represents a form building module which is part of the NextWave website builder. Please note that the screenshots from the NextWave website are made from a beta version, which may be subject of further redesign.
The road begins once you sign up for a NextWave account. You automatically gain sub-user access to the form builder originally provided by 123FormBuilder, and a discrete menu button marks the spot where you can access your Forms section.
The Form module of NextWave offers users the same controls in the 123FormBuilder dashboard. Everything looks consistent with their platform style, while a sharp eye can detect the elements that have been transmutated. The first image below is from the NextWave control panel, while the next one is the original 123FormBuilder backend. Can you spot the differences and similarities?
Let’s try and pinpoint the main elements of the control panel. First of all, the 123FormBuilder logo in the top left has been replaced with the NextWave logo – that’s easy to notice. As every NextWave user is already a sub-user in the 123FormBuilder environment, the Users section from the menu is not necessary anymore and has been removed. Also, the logout link has been hidden and replaced with a menu item for returning to NextWave: Close and Go Back to Website Editor. 123FormBuilder system messages have also been wiped off, to lose all mentions to the external service.
The same appearance guides you through as you configure and set up a new form. At the final step, instead of all the options for publishing the form on various channels that 123FormBuilder originally offers, you now have a straightforward message that signals your form is ready and you can return to NextWave to edit your website.
Back to your NextWave account, you will find a New Block menu item that leads you to the section where you can insert a form in your website. All you need to do is pick the right form from the dropdown menu.
