Quality Assurance Manager - Lincoln, NE

General Definition
Coordinate and direct the inspection and testing of Company products. Cooperate with various departments in training and maintaining of workforce, quality standards, and specifications for products and shipping of products. Supervise employees in such a manner as to insure productivity and development of employees to their fullest extent. Receives and prepares reports to keep Management informed of activities.

Essential Duties
• Maintain a high visual profile in the QA department, making frequent personal spot checks to observe departmental activities and supervise solutions to all quality problems in production.
• Manage the inspection of parts (test or production) for quality and notify production on changes needed.
• Handle all testing on products, powders, etc.
• Work with other departments (i. e. sales, production, customer service, etc.) regarding questions on quality.
• Supervise, evaluate and insure all department personnel are aware of and comply with company policies and standards.
• Comply with EEO Guidelines when hiring or promoting employees.
• Recommend and cooperate with the implementation of training and development programs, maintain discipline within Company standards and implement prescribed disciplinary actions.
• Develop and review quality procedures and policies.
• Maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
• Prepare and assist with reports to keep Management informed of departmental activities.
• Generate quotes for quality control times through reviewing specifications, planning and obtaining costs for tests and planning inspections and calculating hours.
• Answer customer inquiries on quality matters.
• Provide Personnel with criteria for hiring applicants for job openings.
• Perform other related duties.
• There may be times when a temporary work assignment is required in order to meet the requirements of the department. Work assignments will be made at the discretion of Management.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of Quality Control theories and practices, inspection testing equipment and documentation is required. Must possess the mental capacity to engage in various simultaneous functions requiring direct and/or indirect participation or supervision. Must at all times possess the mental maturity and temperamental ability to maintain sound employee relations. A B.S. degree in Engineering or other related field with 3 to 5 years of Quality Control management experience is required. Possession of valid state driver’s license.

Authority
This position reports to the VP of Operations and supervises 1 to 2 inspectors.
