Backyard Challenger Host Request
We know it’ll take time before society gets back to normal. So, we’ve devised a plan to get lifters back on the platform again sooner and later. The sanctioned Backyard Challenger Series consists of private smaller meets, with lifts and totals counting toward the events final accumulative results. There will be limited lifter participation recognizing a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 15 lifters (based on the local social distancing allowable number). The first meet site in the series will be scheduled on June 13th with meets continue each week through August 15, 2020. Examples of meet host sites include, gyms that officially have reopened, various other privately owned venues, backyards, garages, driveways, parking lots or wherever there’s a federation approved surface and space big enough to lay down a platform. We will either furnish or pre-approve all equipment used on the platform. The event overall "tested" and "untested" divisional and weight class placement winners and best lifter awards will be recognized once all meets results are tabulated. Note: Sanction fees have been waived these meets. Each participant receives an event t-shirt at weigh-ins. Event host consideration is based on meeting the following criteria:
  • Must possess or have applied for a 365 SWPF Membership
  • Possess a privately owned facility or space in which to stage the event
  • All participants must pay their registration fees at least 2 weeks prior to the event date
  • Agree to adhere to all federation rules and policies
  • Adhere to your areas COVID-19 social distancing demands
  • Limit spectator entry based on local social distancing standards
  • Communicate equipment access and needs on this request form
