2018 National ID&R Forum
Call for Proposals
The ID&R Center @ ESCORT is seeking proposals for workshops and presentations for the 2018 National ID&R Forum to be held in Philadelphia, PA from October 9-11, 2018. The Forum is designed to focus specifically on identification and recruitment (ID&R) for migrant education programs.

Potential Session Topics
Each year the planners for the National ID&R Forum seek proposals that address aspects of the Migrant Education Program related to the eligibility, identification, and recruitment of migrant children and youth. The proposals for the 2018 National ID&R Forum will follow the same expectations. Given the eligibility changes to the program as a result of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), sessions for this year’s Forum will continue to spark some interesting discussions on the effective implementation of ESSA at the district, regional, and state levels.

Potential Topics for the 2018 ID&R Forum include:
  • Effective Strategies for Training Recruiters
  • Electronic COE Implementation and Best Practices
  • How To Be an Effective Recruiter
  • Identifying OSY that are H-2A workers
  • Implementing Quality Control in ID&R
  • Innovative Strategies to Identify and Recruit Migrant Children
  • Migrant Child Eligibility under ESSA
  • Recruiting and Serving Non-traditional Populations
  • Recruiting and Serving Out-of-School Youth (OSY)
  • Recruiting and Serving Preschoolers
  • Urban Recruitment and ESSA
  • Using Technology in ID&R

In addition, the Forum also can entertain general education topics that are of importance to recruiters, such as:

  • Binational Education Program
  • HEP/CAMP Partnerships
  • Migrant Head Start Partnerships
  • Professional Skills and Communication
  • Recruiter Safety
  • Rights of Immigrant Children
  • Understanding the Migrant Lifestyle
Please note:
  • Presenters will be responsible for their expenses related to participation in the forum, including registration fee, travel, food and lodging.
  • If applicable, presenters are also responsible for preparing a sufficient quantity of handouts for distribution; presenters will be notified of the expected number of handouts to prepare.
  • All conference-related information will be sent to the lead presenter who is responsible for sharing with the co-presenters.
